Scotty hooked up his winch in a double pull but the only thing that moved
was the Hilux as it was being pulled closer to the Mav. Turning the front wheels slightly right enabled
the Hilux to slide into the bank of a little rut enabling the Mav to be pulled out of a deepish rut
so the tyre could be changed.
Cheviot Tunnel Episode 10
The Trip to Cheviot Tunnel starts at Rouches Road just before the Narbethong Caravan Park Sign.
Following this track, we have to cross over a couple of fallen trees as well as negotiate
a couple of others & turning into Nursery Spur Track, Wattle Path Spur & Crotty Creek Tracks
before hitting the main dirt road heading for lunch at the Murrindindi Cascades for a well earned cool off.
A Hardcore Day Episode 6
“Boy its Slippery and there’s no turning back now” came a voice from the four car convoy. “Why can’t we turn back?
” came the reply from a passenger from one of the other vehicles. “The vehicles are loosing grip going round the tight bends and with two trucks
without winches, it would be impossible for them to go up this track”.
At the end of this track we turn onto a main gravel road and head for a campsite to meet another vehicle who knows the tracks around here fairly well.
Bunyip State Park Day Trip Episode 5
A little further along the Sisters Track, the bush closes in and gives you little room for manouvering and
the ruts become damp and slippery. Around a slight right bend and BANG you are confronted by 2 bog holes. The first is really a large
puddle but the 2nd hole is very large and has a smaller bog next to it, the pitures tell the story.
Day Trip to Toolangi Episode 4
With a number of Bog Holes on this track, even locals can get drowned in these Bogs which can be hazardous to Range Rovers and a costly
drowning too. Turning right back onto Marginal road and headed along here a couple of hundred metres to a no name track which goes up hill to a lookout on Klondyke Road.
This track is loose rock and with a large fallen tree across the track we decided to turn back and head for Campsite Track.
Trip to Mt Terrible
Blimey, what an early start. Today folks it's another Hooly Dooly What A
Woopty Doo day trip. We are heading for Mt Terrible, now listen up before you think this trip will be
beyond you. In fact any standard reasonable 4WD will be able to do this trip.
This trip was chosen for the great possibility of snow. Earlier in the week the weather reports promised
a dumping of now on the Saturday, so preparations were made for a Saturday trip. However, later in the week
the darn weather people had changed once again and Saturday was to be fine with a cols front passing through
on Saturday night, so we canned the Saturday idea and decided for a Sunday trip.

Lerderderg Gorge Trip
What is it when reality exceeds expectations? Its a day trip around the
Lerderderg Gorge just half an hour west of Melbourne near Bacchus Marsh. This folks is another Hooly
Dooly What A Woopty Doo day trip.
We set off on the Sunday of the Queen's Birthday long weekend. The weather was fine after two days of drizzle and our expectations were for an easy site seeing trip around the area. Just about all the tracks are to be closed off for winter on the 17th of June, so it was ideal to get up here just before closure.

Trig Track - Walhalla Episode 2
Now we are ready for the climb out of the valley on the notorious section of the track. First a bit of history on this section of track.
Many years ago there was a very famous picture which continually did the rounds of the magazines. It showed a 60 series Toyota in monster ruts (at least waist deep)
with one front wheel almost two meters off the ground. Now back then standard vehicles didn't even come with a limited slip diff, so no one was ever able to make it up,
except for this 60 series.

Gentle Annie trip
A cool, overcast and drizzly Melbourne morning greeted us as we set off for another day trip, this time to gentle Annie just north of Labertouche in West Gippsland, Victoria. This area is renowned for its difficulty when wet as there is very little rock in the tracks. They are mostly clay and black soil.

O'Tooles Flat in the Victorian High Country
Situated on Donnelly Creek to the north of Walhalla, O'tooles Flat is an ideal place to head for a day trip or even a weekend stay. Some challenging sections of track, creek crossings and many nice camping spots in the area will have you coming back time and again.
